Qld: Unconscious scuba diver winched aboard rescue helicopter

BRISBANE, April 29 AAP - A scuba diver has been winched aboard a rescue helicopter
after surfacing unconscious in waters off Brisbane.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the 40-year-old man resurfaced unconscious
after scuba diving at Flinders Reef at Moreton Island about 8am (AEST) today.

She said the man was winched aboard the helicopter from a dive boat and airlifted to
the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

He was suffering from the bends, also known as decompression sickness, the spokeswoman said.
