SYDNEY, Aug 20 AAP - Authorities are seeking a four-year-old New Zealand girl believedto have been brought into Australia by her mother in breach of a family court order.

Australian Federal Police (AFP) today called on the public to help find Rebekah Jayne Stewart.

Rebekah has been missing since March when her New Zealand mother, Roanne (Roanne) JillStewart, is believed to have brought her to Australia.

This is in breach of a New Zealand court order giving her father, Steven Petty, alsoa New Zealander, the right to regular weekend contact visits.

The police described Rebekah as being Caucasian, with large blue-hazel eyes and brown hair.

She is slightly plump for her age and may be carrying two teddy bears she calls Annieand Douglas.

They described her mother as being Caucasian with hazel-blue eyes and at last sightinghad short dark brown hair.

She is about 172cm tall, of medium build, with a slightly freckled complexion, andshe tends not to wear make-up.

A judge of the family court of New Zealand in March described Ms Stewart's removalof Rebekah from New Zealand without the agreement of the court or her father as a clinicaland calculated exercise, the AFP said in a statement.

The judge also criticised her deception of the court.
